Veteran Owned Tattoo Shop Near Fort Hood

Veteran owned. Veteran operated. Built in Copperas Cove.

In the fire service, a flashover is the moment everything in a room ignites at once. That is the standard we hold every piece to: when your tattoo comes together, it should hit all at once and keep burning for life.

Flashover Ink was founded by a father and daughter team. Co-owner Kevin "Chief" Guillot is an Army veteran and a retired fire chief. Co-owner Hailee Scott is a veteran. Artist Dave is a Marine veteran. We run the shop the way a good unit runs: clear communication, high standards and a crew that looks out for every client in the chair.

We are not "military friendly" as a slogan. We are veterans. We know what a unit patch means, and why some names belong on your skin for good.

Who we tattoo

  • Soldiers and families stationed at Fort Hood
  • Veterans and retirees across Central Texas
  • Firefighters, first responders and their families
  • First-timers who want it done right, and collectors adding to a sleeve
  • Anyone in Copperas Cove, Killeen, Harker Heights, Kempner, Lampasas, Belton and Temple who wants custom work without the attitude

What we do

Flashover Ink is a multi-style shop. Tell us what you want, where it goes and what it means, and we will match the project to the right artist.

  • Custom tattoos: every piece is mapped to the body, not pasted onto it.
  • Black and gray realism: portraits, wildlife, statues and symbolic work. See black and gray realism.
  • Color realism: saturated, photo-real color for pieces that need to pop.
  • Fine line: delicate script, florals and precise linework. See fine line tattoos.
  • Memorial tattoos: portraits, handwriting, dates and tribute symbols. See memorial tattoos.
  • Military, unit and first responder tattoos: branch emblems, unit insignia, Maltese crosses and tribute pieces, designed by people who understand them.
  • Cover-ups and reworks: an honest look at what can be done. See cover-up tattoos.
  • And more: American traditional, neo-traditional, illustrative, watercolor, Polynesian, lettering, floral, ornamental and custom sleeves.

How booking works

  1. Send a request on Porter. Pick an artist or choose "First available," then describe your idea, size and placement. Reference photos help.
  2. Talk it through. We go over design, placement and timeline, and give you a realistic estimate.
  3. Tattoo day. Come rested, fed and hydrated, wear clothes that give easy access to the placement, and bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
  4. Aftercare. Your artist gives you instructions for your exact tattoo and bandage.

Active duty? Check your regs first.

If you serve, check current tattoo regulations for your branch (for the Army, AR 670-1) with your chain of command before you lock in a placement, especially hands, neck and anything above the collar line. We will help you design something that fits the rules and still says what you want it to say.
